Glia

Glia cells are specialized cells of the nervous system which have got two objectives: glue neurons together and associate neurons.

There are four types of glia cells: protoplasmatic astrocytes, fibrous astrocytes, oligodendrocytes and microglia.

Astrocytes are cells with starry form that they give physical and nutritional support to the neurons: 1) they clean the brain "rubbles"; 2) they lead nutrientes to the neuron; 3) they support to the neurons in his place; 4) they eat parts of dead neurons; 5) they regulate the content of the space extracelular.
